Cooperations

The Library & Information Centre (LIC) of Harokopio University of Athens cooperates with other libraries, while is a founding member of cooperative schemes in order to save resources, and provide access to electronic resources in order to cover the educational and research needs of its academic community. Exchanging ideas, experiences and good practices as a result from its participation in cooperative schemes leads to a variety of activities enhancing its educational, scientific and cultural offer.

Specifically, it is a member of the following cooperative schemes:

· Hellenic Academic Libraries Link Hellenic Academic Libraries Link (HEAL Link) where the cooperation, through the establishment of a common policy, in journal/data bases subscriptions aims at the rational development of the electronic collections, reduce costs and provide access to a greater number of sources among the Greek Academic Libraries.

· Integrated Library System as a Service (ILSaS) where through the ILSaS Catalogue (MITOS) the patron can search for an item, simultaneously, in all the network’s libraries.

· ILSaS Descriptive Cataloguing Committee. The results of the Committees’ work that consult and decide policies on cataloging issues and setting standards are posted on the following website http://ahileas.lib.ntua.gr/istologio/ilsas/ which is a tool for the catalogers’ daily work.

· Hellenic Economic Library Network (H.E.LI.N.) in which LIC is one of the founding members. H.E.LI.N. was formed in 2012 by Libraries and Information Centers of universities, banking institutions, research and government bodies of Attica that have collections, sources and information services related to economic science. It has 10 members.

· Greek Academic Geographical Libraries Group in which LIC is a founding member.The Group established in 2017 while six academic institutions and the National Library of Greece are included. The purpose of this cooperation is the promotion and the optimal management of the geographic al content that academic libraries possess and the implementation of geoservices providing that way added value services to the public.

· Accessible Multi-modal Electronic Library AmeLib which provides online accessible books to all eligible print-disabled users of the country's academic libraries. AmeLib is accessible under authentication.

· National Network of Science and Technology Libraries which through the National Union Catalogue of Scientific Journals LIC is able to provide the interlibrary loan service for articles.

· Material Exchange and Donations Network of the National Library of Greece. Material Exchange and Donations Network of the National Library of Greece. LIC in collaboration with the National Library of Greece, the Library and Information Center of Panteion University, and the Library of the Eugenides Foundation designed and developed the specific service which is implemented and supported by the National Library of Greece.
